Baby Won't You Please (live)

from Amsterdam Moon (live) by The Coo

/
  • Record/Vinyl + Digital Album

Our full debut EP Amsterdam Moon, recorded live in Amsterdam in April of 2019, with one unreleased bonus track - only 300 copies available!
    ______________________________________________________________
The story of our debut EP has reached its finale - the recordings have been pressed on vinyl and we will be releasing a limited edition run of 300 copies only.

This is a really special moment for us - the first time we’ll be holding a physical twelve inch of our own work in the medium we have always listened to our favourite sixties and seventies artists - and now it sings with our own voices!

We hope you enjoy interacting with the sleeve artwork, holding the disc in your hands and then listening to the unique hushed and warm sound that it creates. In these sad days of distancing, we hope our vinyl EP will feel even more like you are in the room with us when you listen to it.

Purchasers of the vinyl will also be able to hear a previously unreleased track from the evening of the recording - ‘About Time’ that is not available to streaming services, a free MP3 download code and some personal extras as well.

Includes unlimited streaming of Amsterdam Moon (live) via the free Bandcamp app, plus high-quality download in MP3, FLAC and more.

In addition to owning one of these unique musical pieces, people who buy the vinyl will be able to hear a previously unreleased track from the evening of the recording - ‘About Time’ and they will also receive a free MP3 download code as well.

Don’t miss out on owning a genuine piece of limited edition Coo history!

lyrics

You said that you dreamed that you would fly away
and you would have to leave me behind on the ground and I said: if you wanna go be free, you just go be free
I don’t need you around

But baby won’t you please come home
Won’t you come back to me
Baby won’t you please come home
Won’t you come back
I’ll be waiting for you

You said that you felt just like a boat adrift
you would have to leave me behind on the shore
and I said: I don’t even wanna be your anchor babe
I don’t care anymore

But baby won’t you please come home
Won’t you come back to me
Baby won’t you please come home
Won’t you come back
I’ll be waiting for you

Your clothes feel alone on my shelf and you
you seem to go without your favorite hat
And I know I screamed that I would burn them all
But I still let them sleep in my bed

warm in my bed, and soft in my arms come on, come on
warm in my bed, and soft in my arms come on home

Baby won’t you please come home
Won’t you come back to me
Baby won’t you please come home
Won’t you come back
I’ll be waiting for you

about

The Coo London, UK

The Coo’s journey started with a serendipitous meeting at an Amsterdam open mic, and has since evolved into a deep musical and personal relationship that bridges the North Sea. Matt Arthur (The Arthur Brothers) and Jara Holdert (Lewin) write and sing songs together in two-part harmony, reminiscent of the warm late 60s and early 70s. ... more
